The process involves connecting Directus to your chosen SQL database and file storage adapter, enabling CRUD operations, user establishment, role allocation with adjustable permissions, detailed queries, webhooks and task automation, and more. Directus uses Database Introspection & Abstraction to analyze your database structure and create an abstraction layer to handle all complex details. This method is compatible with any major SQL database, allowing you to connect or disconnect Directus to your database without affecting your existing data model, preventing vendor lock-in. After introspection and abstraction, Directus creates REST and GraphQL API endpoints for data management with granular control. It also provides CLI tools for file management and a comprehensive JavaScript SDK. The no-code App, powered by the API and CLI, is a GUI that offers no-code access to the API, democratizing the database and giving control to the entire team.
